Building work, across the UK

Where good jobsfind good builders

Post your job free. Builders spend a credit to reach you, so the only people getting in touch are the ones serious enough to pay for it.

How it works

One straight line, either way

No bidding war, no cold calls, no five-page sign-up. Pick your side and follow it through.

  1. Describe the job

Category, budget range, county, and any drawings or photos. A few minutes, and it costs nothing.

  2. Decide how builders reach you

Let anyone get in touch the moment they see it, or make them ask first so you choose who gets through.

  3. 3 at most

A job takes 3 builders, counting anyone still waiting on your answer. Nobody else can reach you, so your phone stays quiet.

  4. Talk it through

Once you are connected, you can see each other’s details, message, and share photos until the job is agreed.

What a credit buys

One credit. The whole client, not a teaser.

Spend it and you get their name, address, phone number and email address, plus a chat thread with them. That is the entire paywall — browsing, filtering, saving and talking to people you have already reached are all free.

  • £20 a credit ex VAT, and packs of 5, 10 or 25 bring that down.
  • 3 builders per job, hard cap — a credit never buys you a place in a queue of thirty.
  • A day of silence and a pending request expires, putting the credit straight back in your balance.
  • No commission. What you agree with the client is between you and them.

Why builders choose us

One price, whatever the job is worth

Other platforms charge you more when the job is bigger, or charge you every month whether you win work or not.

Elsewhere

  • CheckatradeA monthly membership, priced individually to you, with lead fees on top of it. It is due whether any work comes in or not.
  • BarkYou pay to contact a customer, priced by what the job is worth and how busy your area is. A customer who never replies still costs you.
  • MyBuilderTheir terms call the shortlist fee non-refundable, and payable whether or not you are awarded the job. No stated limit on how many of you are shortlisted alongside each other.

Here

£20a credit, flatex VAT, and packs bring it down

  • The same price on every job. A small repair and a full extension cost exactly the same to reach.
  • You are 1 of 3, never one of a crowd. A hard cap, enforced by the database rather than promised in a paragraph. Once 3 builders are on a job it comes off the board.
  • On jobs where the client approves each builder, a credit is only spent if they say yes. Turn you down, or never answer at all, and it returns to your balance for another job.
  • Every phone number is confirmed. We text the client a code and they enter it before their job goes on the board. Change the number, and they do it again.
  • No monthly subscription. Free to browse the job board and no commission on what you agree with the client.
Why it works

Built to keep it calm

Every rule here exists to stop one side drowning the other.

Free for clients, permanently

Posting costs nothing — no subscription, no listing fee, no catch later on. Builders pay for access to you; you never pay for anything.

Planning references checked

Quote a reference and we check it against the public register, then keep re-checking while the job is live, so what you see is its status today rather than what somebody typed in.

Nobody arrives uninvited

Your address, number and email stay hidden until you are connected, and you can insist that every builder asks first.

Three slots, then it shuts

A shortlist for you, real odds for them. Nobody ends up quoting against thirty other builders.

Jobs do not sit and rot

A job runs for 90 days, and you can withdraw it the moment you have found somebody. The board stays full of work that is genuinely still going.

Straight answers

The things people ask first

What does it cost me as a client?

Nothing. Posting is free and there is no subscription. The builders pay for the introduction. That is the whole business model.

What exactly is a credit?

£20 ex VAT, bought in packs of 1, 5, 10 or 25. One credit unlocks one job: the client's name, address, phone number and email address, and a chat thread with them.

How do I know the phone number is real?

We text the client a code and they have to enter it before their job goes on the board. A landline gets a call reading the code out instead. If they change the number later, they do it again.

What if I unlock a job and the client ignores me?

Where a client has asked to be consulted first, an unanswered request expires after 24 hours and the credit returns to your balance automatically. You do not have to chase anyone for it. Where the job was open to anyone, the credit is spent the moment you unlock it and it is not refundable — you have had the information you paid for, whether or not they reply.

Who can see my address, phone number and email?

Only builders you are connected with — three at the very most, and only after you have accepted them if you have chosen to be asked first. The board itself shows the town and the county, never your street.

Do I have to know what the work will cost?

No. You pick a broad budget range rather than a figure. It is all a builder needs in order to judge whether the job is worth a credit, and it saves you inventing a precision nobody has yet.
